I

n his recent so-called “Townhall Meeting” Obama was confronted by an elderly black lady who unintentionally revealed the basic illness our country faces.  She articulated things just as succinctly as Joe the Plumber had done months earlier, except the message that came across was purely unintentional and of totally another tact.  Could he, she asked, help her get a new car, a bathroom and a better kitchen. 

          This would have been an excellent opportunity for Obama to tell the nation that the best way we can improve our lots is by going to work and that he planned to make more jobs available by cutting corporate taxes and that government should never promise a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage.  Government could help, he might have said, by improving our educational standards so more people could qualify for more jobs.  Instead, he took her name and said his staff would be getting back to her.

          Arizona State University has just announced major program cutbacks.  Sadly, they are dropping programs at the School of Engineering and the Polytechnic campus but leaving intact “Bachelor of Arts in Ethnicity, Race and First Nations Studies.”  This is symptomatic of what’s wrong with education.  Obama’s failure to respond with maturity is an indication of where we’re heading: Goofy programs and modestly disguised socialism.   

          The insidious strength of socialism is that it keeps perpetuating itself as long as voters realize government is providing them with a new car, a bathroom and a better kitchen.  The beat goes on.

          The most worrying aspect of all this is the path the federal government is currently following, especially the recent bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, along with the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and the “loans” to the auto industry.  Through all this we are relentlessly implementing the same political/economic system that we spent the last half of the twentieth century fighting against. The USA is quickly becoming the USSA, the United Socialist States of America.

          The only way to make a profit in a real (i.e., free) market is to satisfy consumer demand.  In other words, to produce goods and services in which other human beings find value. By enriching his own life, by earning a profit, the entrepreneur enriches society. In fact, voluntary trade -- individuals exchanging things which they consider valuable with one another -- makes civilization possible.

          Instead of the profit incentive, socialism is driven by political incentive. Instead of satisfying consumer demand, politicians are more interested in satisfying the demands of their constituents who have the ability to keep the politician in power. Successful politicians are those who are best able to work the system to the benefit of their patrons. Ability is no longer rewarded; ruthlessness and ambition are.

          Socialism destroys human productivity through its innocent but nevertheless perverse incentives. Instead of rewarding ability, hard work, and self-reliance, it rewards need, sloth and dependence. Why work when the fruits of your labor are confiscated? Why work when you can sit at home and receive a government handout? Humans respond to conditioning.  When I was at the University of Minnesota, I took a political science course from a professor who   thought Karl Marx’s slogan of “from each according to his ability; to each according to his need,”  was just dandy.  You don’t have to dig very deep in Mr. Obama’s agenda to discover precisely what Old Karl was preaching a long time ago. The nice old lady who wanted a new car, a bathroom and a better kitchen was innocent in her request.  But, unwittingly, she was speaking of our new national agenda.

          It isn’t the mountains of money involved in TARP and the government bailouts that bothers me.  It is the fact that Obama and his band of merry bandits are cleverly camouflaging what lies in wait down the road. Our American free market has brought tremendous benefits to mankind. Yet, Obamaists blame the market for the current crisis. The real cause of this crisis is not market failures, but decades of government intervention in the market.  It is only the resilience of the free market that has delayed the inevitable for as long as it has. What we are seeing is the compromise between socialism and free markets that our country has pursued since the New Deal.

Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

 

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

 

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

 

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

 

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey , New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington

Stimulus FYI

In case it isn't known ....Baucus AND Tester said yes to the stimulus!!!!!  Apparently what we the people of this state does not matter to them...it is all about THEIR bottom line and they will be comfortable during this hardship time the rest of us will go thru.  But I guess that is no suprise being they are bleeding heart liberal demos.  There is NOTHING for us in that bill and like that first reporter tonight asked the last stimulus didn't help us what makes him think this one will...what does he know he isn't telling....my personal thoughts are for as hard as he is trying to push this thru RIGHT NOW....is what debts has a timeline before we are are attacked on our soil!  Otherwise why the urgency....why not allow everyone to really go thru this pork bs and figure out what is really necessary.  I have been thru that list and I see nothing but debt that my children, grandchildren several years in the future will have to deal with for no reason. 

He was blaming President Bush w/o saying his name....if people seriously would go back and look he was doing awesome in helping the economy it was when people started cryng they wanted change because suddenly they didn't like Bush that they started voting in all dems in the house....that is when the economy started suffering!  This situation right now is NOT from what I have seen Bushes fault.  I am not saying he was perfect, I am not saying I agreed with him on many things....but this recession I do not feel is his fault.  And seriously I blame NObama....he said it himself tonight in his so called I like to hear myself speak speech the last 3 months have spiraled out of control.  No shit dipstick it is when you were pronounced as prez elect that shit went down the tubes.  HE said he was going to put higher taxes so WHY would a business want to stay in business they are going to hurt in the long run under his so called spread the wealth plan.  Corral West closing was not a factor of the economy the new CEO made an error in judgement in financial dealings and screwed the company.  So some of these business closures you have to look at everything -others like the oil companys aren't putting up with NObamas bullshit tax plans.

AND HOW DOES HE KNOW WE WON'T RECOVER if this stimulus isn't approved?????  I said in one of my last blogs BEFORE his little speech tonight...how I felt....if this goes thru we are in trouble, and if we don't accept the stimulus we are in trouble...which is the more troublesome road???

HERE IT COMES, PEOPLE! FOR the record I am NOT a fan of HSLDA, but this is scary stuff that we as parents are losing control over OUR rights to our children.  How else can NObama have good little socialists if we have control and not him.  Somalia is the only other country besides the USA last I read yesterday that has not signed the treaty.  They have been trying to pass this since at least 1990 maybe 89 I don't recall right now, but it has never had the right dynamics to make it pass.  NOW with the crappy government we have going on and the wrong leader of our country I fear the dynamics are right for this to get passed.  NObama seems to be pencil whipping everything thru regardless of how everyone feels about anything, throws a fit when everyone doesn't agree with him because he is God and says this is how things have to be done...I loath this man and what he is doing to this country.  But many of you out there reading this allowed this to happen only you can help stop him!  Once you wake up that is.

Expert: Pact would ban spankings, homeschooling if children object

A United Nations human rights treaty that could prohibit children from being spanked or homeschooled, ban youngsters from facing the death penalty and forbid parents from deciding their families' religion is on America's doorstep, a legal expert warns.

Michael Farris of Purcellville, Va., is president of ParentalRights.org , chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association and chancellor of Patrick Henry College . He told WND that under the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child , or CRC, every decision a parent makes can be reviewed by the government to determine whether it is in the child's best interest.

"It's definitely on our doorstep," he said. "The left wants to make the Obama-Clinton era permanent. Treaties are a way to make it as permanent as stuff gets. It is very difficult to extract yourself from a treaty once you begin it. If they can put all of their left-wing socialist policies into treaty form, we're stuck with it even if they lose the next election."

The 1990s-era document was ratified quickly by 193 nations worldwide, but not the United States or Somalia. In Somalia, there was then no recognized government to do the formal recognition, and in the United States there's been opposition to its power. Countries that ratify the treaty are bound to it by international law.

Although signed by Madeleine Albright, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., on Feb. 16, 1995 , the U.S. Senate never ratified the treaty, largely because of conservatives' efforts to point out it would create that list of rights which primarily would be enforced against parents.

The international treaty creates specific civil, economic, social, cultural and even economic rights for every child and states that "the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration." It is monitored by the CRC, which conceivably has enforcement powers.

According to the Parental Rights website , the substance of the CRC dictates the following:

• Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.

•
A murderer aged 17 years, 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.

•
Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.

•
The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent's decision.

•
A child's "right to be heard" would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.

•
According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children's welfare.

•
Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure .

•
Teaching children about Christianity in schools has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.

•
Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.

•
Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

"Where the child has a right fulfilled by the government, the responsibilities shift from parents to the government," Farris said. "The implications of all this shifting of responsibilities is that parents no longer have the traditional roles of either being responsible for their children or having the right to direct their children."

The government would decide what is in the best interest of a children in every case, and the CRC would be considered superior to state laws, Farris said. Parents could be treated like criminals for making every-day decisions about their children's lives.

"If you think your child shouldn't go to the prom because their grades were low, the U.N. Convention gives that power to the government to review your decision and decide if it thinks that's what's best for your child," he said. "If you think that your children are too young to have a Facebook account, which interferes with the right of communication, the U.N. gets to determine whether or not your decision is in the best interest of the child."

He continued, "If you think your child should go to church three times a week, but the child wants to go to church once a week, the government gets to decide what it thinks is in the best interest of the children on the frequency of church attendance."

He said American social workers would be the ones responsible for implementation of the policies.

Farris said it could be easier for President Obama to push for ratification of the treaty than it was for the Clinton administration because "the political world has changed."

At a Walden University presidential debate last October, Obama indicated he may take action.

"It's embarrassing to find ourselves in the company of Somalia, a lawless land," Obama said. "I will review this and other treaties to ensure the United States resumes its global leadership in human rights."

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been a strong supporter of the CRC, and she now has direct control over the treaty's submission to the Senate for ratification. The process requires a two-thirds vote.

Farris said Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., claimed in a private meeting just before Christmas that the treaty would be ratified within two years.

In November, a group of three dozen senior foreign policy figures urged Obama to strengthen U.S. relations with the U.N. Among other things, they asked the president to push for Senate approval of treaties that have been signed by the U.S. but not ratified.

Partnership for a Secure America Director Matthew Rojansky helped draft the statement. He said the treaty commands strong support and is likely to be acted on quickly, according to an Inter Press Service report.

While he said ratification is certain to come up, Farris said advocates of the treaty will face fierce opposition.

"I think it is going to be the battle of their lifetime," he said. "There's not enough political capital in Washington, D.C., to pass this treaty. We will defeat it.

Sorry I am back to...Political stuff, but

I know I am onto more of a political road again.  I hate that MY blog is being consumed by this idiot, but also feel society NEEDS to know what they voted for.

I had a dream the other night that was really bothersome for me.  I awoke with a very uneasy feeling and the only things I remember from that dream is my grandmother...in the drivers seat of the car we were going I don't know where and talked of a lot of things I don't recall at this time.  BUT the feeling I walked away from that dream was we need to prep.  That we are about to see a far worse depression than she ever did in her day.  Quit worrying about who has the top technology it isn't going to matter and only be a waste of money you could use to prepare for the worst.  

Those that know me know that dreams come this vivid only where there is serious warnings to be had.  Otherwise I rarely remember any dream I have and normally when I have my dreams like this they aren't too far off into the future.  The dream had its hold on me so tight I remember trying to wake up but I couldn't there was such urgence to listen and heed her words. 

And where this stimulus bill is BAD BAD news I feel if we don't go along with it he is going to cause our depression far beyond what is necessary, yet if we go along with it...we are still in some major trouble.  Which is the lesser troubled road I don't know.  I do know that it is my sons generation that will have to pay for this debt.  My son that told me last night that he wants to own a farm, have 19 children, bullride and become a Texas Ranger.  Quiet the ambition and in comparison to todays society rather a simple life and that of hard work will get you where you want.  That government can't and won't take care of you.  personal responsibility!

I believe autistic kids were sent to try and show us the simplicity of life again.  I think they are our next generation of evolution to take us back to what our forefathers started and will have to rebuild this nation once it is destroyed from the current government.  The more I watch our country the more I firmly believe we were given the gift of a child with autism because of our beliefs and how we feel about how this nation should be.  We will be able to help him in keeping those roots firmly planted to accomplish whatever it is in this lifetime he is to accomplish.

I am sorry but he is the president (NOT GOD)....would him going change my oppinion of him...absolutely not, but this only further stabs that knife deeper into what his "wise" idiot lemmings of followers want to do to this country.  He is showing his colors and this was total disrespect.  I don't care that his VP was there he himself should have been there and this was a grave mistake on his part to snub our country like this.  NOTHING was so important that he couldn't have been there.  

McCain and amnesty...AGAIN

McCain wants to work with Reid on amnesty... again

   
Senator Harry Reid, an open-borders menace, told David Gregory on Meet the Press (January 4) that RINO Senator John McCain contacted him 'a day or two after the election' and wants to work with him on amnesty for illegal aliens. McCain needs to get on the other side of the Congressional Aisle where he belongs.

Sen. McCain has done enough damage to America, the Republican Party and Conservative people across the Country.

Sen. McCain and his radicals need to close up their shop and re-open with banners glowing with "McCain for Sale" "I am not Republican, I am not Conservative and I am not a Traditional Values American."

I Am angry with this guy parading around demanding that Conservatives support him when he is a closet Liberal that shows up too often like a Jack in the Box.

This tells me that McCain might have been as bad as Obama.

I do wish more would have listened to Ron Paul.  But then how

I am not at all opposed to hearing Sarah Palins name on the ballot as the one for president in 2012.  Ron Paul not getting a chance this term now makes him to old to run, but she shares similar views and will be better prepped to go at it next round. NObama will NOT get a second chance.  He is going to run this country into the ground and has already started.  I do feel for Palin or whomever gets their chance next round because there is going to be quiet the clean up.

it was the lesser of 2 evils I suppose to have voted for McCain whom most likely would have shown more respect for our nations flag, anthem and pledge.

Stimulus': Your Money for Illegals, Welfare Recipients, Arts, and Sex

 

Just how outrageous is this shameful $819 billion stimulus?

For starters — and this will shock you — both the House and the Senate programs have a loophole that even gives illegal aliens cash payouts.

Here’s how The Associated Press explained it: “Undocumented immigrants who are not eligible for a Social Security number can file tax returns with an alternative number. A House-passed version of the economic recovery bill, and one making its way through the Senate, would allow anyone with such a number, called an individual taxpayer identification number (TIN), to qualify for the tax credits.”

In case you didn’t know it, any illegal can get a TIN number from Social Security, no questions asked.

This means illegals who broke the law to get here will be eligible immediately for federal cash — up to $1,000!

It gets worse. Let me detail for you some facts from the “stimulus”:

• More than $4 billion is earmarked for "neighborhood stabilization activities" — money that will go to groups like ACORN, which worked closely with the Obama campaign, the same group accused of massive voter fraud.
• Almost half of the proposed spending will directly benefit the Service Employees International Union, federal, state, and municipal employee unions, or other Democratic-controlled unions, according to writer Ben Stein.
• $600 million goes for news cars for top government bureaucrats.
• Obama promised major infrastructure projects — yet only 5 percent of all the money goes for this.
• $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts.
• $75 million to fund anti-smoking programs.
• $650 million for the switch from analog television to digital.
• $335 million to help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
• $600 million for “climate change” research programs.

This is just a small part of the long laundry list of trivial, weird, and simply outrageous programs being funded in the Obama stimulus bill, which goes on for 680 pages — so long no one in the House was believed to have read it before voting for it!

Just to show you the tremendous waste, there is so much money appropriated in this bill you could give every unemployed person in the nation a check for $75,000 for the amount being spent.
